I am a touch confused, didn't the Cam Chest - Oil Tank Vent Kit do this? Surely using the "old" Vent Kit with the alteration previously mentioned to the Engine Breather pipe would resolve the pressure build up without having to go to a new tank? That will be difficult to ascertain now you have fit the new tank.

Bruce, it also turned out his vent hose was blocked with oil/mayonase He has relocated the vent outlet port to where S&S intended, not off the bottom of the engine as done by Morgan

Yep, that totally plugged line was a big contributor to my oil issues. Living on a cold windy waterfront makes for pretty high humidity and that doesn’t help either.

If an oil tank with a sight glass is not something you like then fine, stick with what you have . The first separator almost worked for me but that was before i knew that engine breather line was plugged solid. This new setup works fine so far.

It is supposed to be 35f tomorrow so another test ride is planned.

So today i got to go for a 40 mile trip, 20 to and 20 from, on the freeway. The outside air temp was 34f. The new oil system worked great with no dripping from tank cap seals or hose fittings. No pressure in the tank, 4-1/4 qt. of oil and the thermostat on the oil cooler never turned on engaging the oil cooler.

The oil temps inside the oil in the tank slowly climbed to 166f meaning the cooler never turned on, it does turn on at 186f.

I also was testing for the first time the new ECU from G56. It fired right up and by the time i returned home after 40 miles the machine was running also as smooth as oem. I suspect after 100 more miles it will be purring. Noticeably more power.

Stephen, glad to hear the new ECU is working out.

So with the oil staying cool, any evidence of additional oil foaming or additional evidence of moisture in the system?

The moisture in the tank seems to be separated out of the oil on the plates internal to the tank. And this was on as cold a day as possible without driving on a frozen lake. The foam in the crankcase breather line was less at the end of the ride than if i had driven across town just a couple of miles.
