I am looking for alternative wheels to use in Winter for my 1996 4/4 .
I currently have the original chrome wire wheels
Any suggestions welcome

You might get more response posting this in the Classic Morgan section?
Alternative wheels are quite limited, depending on your budget...

Simplest solution may be to go for a set of black-painted wires from MWS, I bought 5 from them in 2013 and they were £150 each.

Rather than go to the expense of an extra set of wheels, a suitable compromise could be to fit “all season” tyres. As you haven’t had your Morgan that long, have you checked the age of the existing tyres? It could be that you could kill two birds with one stone, as it were. Some people on here have done that but as Graham said, you may get more response by posting on the Classic section.

JP, if your concern is preservation of the wires, I recommend using one of the bike anti corrosion sprays over winter, or like me use Comma wax seal; whatever wheels you've got they'll get grubby anyway. Definitely check your tyre age and condition. Irrespective of legislation and remaining tyre depth, any tyre older than 10 years shouldn't be on your road wheels, especially in the case of a rear wheel drive Morgan. I suspect my use of the deep tread spare before fitting new rubber, "to get a few miles out of it", which was probably an original Yokohoma factory fit tyre from 2003, contributed to my recent loss of grip whilst cornering. Having been out this morning, I can attest to the dramatic Improvement new rubber contributes, and I wasn't trying to test! I put cross climates on because I know I'll be doing 20-30 thousand miles this year again, and a lot of that in wet conditions close to or below 7 degrees c, and icy roads. An MGB flipped a couple of years ago near me killing the driver. Put down to failed old tyres.

Thank you all for your input but as Graham pointed out it would be better to post this in the Classic Morgan section Also I should clarify all my tyres are all new  so no safety issues there I am looking for an alternative to my chrome wires which are proving to be a bit of a nightmare looking after them after driving around the mud filled roads of Somerset in The Winter... when I bought my 4/4 aka "Billy" I decided that I would use my Morgan all year round and have had lots of fun driving in the rain and mud but am planning ahead for next Winter Will put question on another section but thanks so much for all your helpful comments
