That's an impressive video Bob, he seems to be doing it during his lunch break. I'm not sure if my'fat fingers' could cope with that. I think I would order a couple of spare needles to be on the safe side.

Intriiguing. I have a VDO instrument on my Volvo boat engine and it does exactly the same thing. They are notorious for it. It does of course read engine hours rather than miles.

When I bought my 97 +8 i had a HPI done and it had a red flag on the mileage , what was happening was the decimal point was missing so instead of reading 28300.0 it read 2830 and thats what was recorded on the mot when it got corrected the mileage jumped 10k or so it seemed . The previous owner had kept a record of every trip and mileage covered while the problem existed so I did wonder whether I could get the record amended I did contact the dvla and they seemed to think it could . Anybody had any experience with this ?

I lay several socks filled with cat litter just below windscreen on top of dash this helps keep condensation at bay... every now and then I remove them and dry them out at home.... seems to work
