Any recommendation for a good all year round waterproof cover?

I've had one of Johns Morganhoods covers, but after two years is lost most of it's waterproofing and the poor girl is sitting under a damp blanket which will not be good in the long term.

I suppose I'm looking for something made of 'waterproof' material a bit like his storm hoods, rather than a treated cotton. I'm not overly precious about the paintwork.

Not too concerned about 'breathability' as shes outside all the time and gets plenty of fresh air.

Tyvek. Had one for my +4, Lightweight, seemed to work pretty well. Unfortunately the rodents got at it when left in the garage after I sold the +4. Should have kept the cover in the house...

Thank you.

In fairness to Morganhoods, it does say 12 months usage and I've had double that. So it may be worth just biting the bullet every 18mtths and forking out the £130 for a new one.

Just found one I'd bought for my old Hyundai Coupe and never used, but it has no facility for underbody straps and I definately need them.

TBM .... search google locally for someone who repairs horse-rugs .... they'll sew straps to it cheaply enough.

good thinking - but not sure the 'material' would be strong enough - it only cost £25 smile

How about the big plastic tarpaulin eyes you get in packs from diy shops that you align the two halves and tap with a hammer .... then just a couple of bungies under the front and rear of the car.

Got some of those in my camping kit. Might go and have a play if this sleet stops!

Can you not re waterproof it . There are plenty of sprays to do that out there.

I gave it a good going over with fabsil a while back, but I think the waterproof layer is under the outer part so wasn't entirely successful.

If your MOG is narrow & short enough as older ones often are then I can highly recommend waterproof covers from the MGB Hive at £120 inc delivery.Lasts at least 3 years and are very good at keeping the water out. Have had Gts for nearly ten years always outside think they are 13 ft by 5 ft.
