Lucky you! My reward for 25 years of service with Hewlett-Packard was a pedal bin.

Probably more than many have received over the last few years Ian! frown

After 15 years running a local charity and bringing £1.1 million in extra funding leaving them with 6 new or nearly new Sprinter minibuses and £100k cash in the bank I got a £4 bottle of wine ooo

Almost 20 years of faithful service with my last employer, to be sent a recorded delivery brown envelope because of Covid to be told... "do one pal" frown

I thought perhaps you'd gone for an early one with the return to AM DB7? smile

There is nothing wrong with Timex. 😄👍🏻 My first watch was a Ticka Ticka Timex back in 1967, and last year I bought another. It does everything I want with multiple alarms, time zones, timers etc and cost a mere $150.00

I have friends with fancy watches and collections of them and despite the enormous sums paid for some of them they all seem to tell the same time as mine. To look at I find Rolex and similar boring and uninteresting to look at.
Mind you I would splash out for a “Devon Tread 1 Steampunk” if I had more money than sense, but at over $25k even if I could find one for sale I will never own one 😂.

And as for work after 19 years with IBM all you would get is made redundant then outsourced back for less money with no more annual leave in the same role the next working day, it’s a company I loathed and would not inflict working for them on my worst enemy.

A bit of thread drift but....
Some years ago I was fishing the River Stinchar in Ayrshire, up river away from other fishermen. After a while I had the feeling I was not alone and then a rather distinguished gentleman stepped forward.

He introduced himself as the owner of the estate and we had a good chat about salmon conservation. It was only when I later told the gillie of the meeting that he told me it was Fred Olsen.

Consequently, I look at my cheap Timex with a little affection.
