Ours is a 90" Hardtop, It's a great vehicle and we love it to bits but I wouldn't consider trying to sleep in it. On the other hand there's loads of room in it for storage boxes and the like so we wouldn't need to have so much stuff in the caravan. It being so small means we could drag it to some of the more out of the way places, especially in Scotland. You can get rear tent awnings for them too, so you end up with a decent amount of space.

That sounds like a good option for you with the tent awning and a lightweight caravan.

I've always liked the thought of those roof-top tents for Landys ... as long as you're ladder-friendly.

Maybe this combo for your Morgan, you might be able to fit a bar legally on yours Tim ?

Phill, as you will know that is a French car and I believe the German authorities also allow this no matter the age of the (Morgan) vehicle as the trailed item also has to have an MOT.
I don't understand the logic either.

Here there is an age limit, ironically after a certain age (I don't know the cut off) Morgan's were no longer allowed to fit a tow bar.

A great shame for people that enjoy this kind of touring whilst having a great car for unhindered exploring, I know Tim has an earlier car hence my comment.

Piqued my interest, It's all about type approval for the towing equipnent (I.e towbar securing points, weight limits etc,etc), and I guess the reasonings behind it are reasonable, principally manufacturer cost to type approve.
I guess I'll take a tent, or glamp if we get back to Boardmasters again

Interesting research for towing folk on TM - so all you need is a DeLorean Plu8 then if I've got that right.

You are a brave man going down to the Boardmasters, our Son and his girlfriend live close to Newquay and surf several hours a day whenever they can but don't go near it, mind it would involve getting time off work and as they only work a 3 day week each anyway that can get a little tricky at times in the season as they are both middle management in the leisure industry and work to live.

There's no way I'd pull even a micro caravan with a Morgan, the weight of the trailer would be far too close to the weight of the car. Those Go-Pod caravans weigh 500Kg empty, and you need an MTPLM of 750Kg to be able to legally tow. My car weighs 850Kg wet. Although my car is old enough not to need to comply with the later rules, they were brought in with a very good reason, and I'm by no means certain you could get insurance cover anyway.

Fair enough, towing anything has never appealed to me whatsoever, the only exception I made was when we bought the children a Honda powered Deavinson cart and we had to get a trailer to shift it around for them to enjoy - it made them them all quick drivers so I'm not sure whether that was a good idea but it was great fun watching them explore the limits.
