Just finished the Phil Bleazey Centa drive upgrade on my car. Can say it's quite a big job to do yourself but not too difficult.
You need to invest in a few special tools which you certainly need. During the job you learn a lot about your M3W which will gives you more confidence in the car and yourself as proud owner.
The YouTube video's from Phil are of GREAT help and I would say a MUST to watch. And when having questions (for which I could not find the answers in the video's) Phil was always willing the help me with a good advice. Thanks for that Phil !
If the PB Centa upgrade will give a better or different ride? I still don't know due to the heavy snows we're had this winter in Grindelwald. I'm very exited to try this out as soon the roads are clear again.
Most important it will give peace mind on a long trip to know that the rubbers are easy to change in case necessary.
I plan on doing this next fall. I have to agree with you about working on your car gives you great confidence. The first thing I did to my car was put a rear fender on it. I was scared to death that I was going to mess something up and was scared to take the back shelf out. I then extended the headlights outboard and felt a little more confident, then the baffle removal, then the bevel box brace and then installed a third brake light where I had to drill a hole in the car! Each time I did a mod, I felt more at ease with the car. The bevel box mod being the big confidence booster. I also agree with you about Phil. What a great patient guy. He is always there to encourage and give advice. While I am not looking forward to pulling the engine and doing the Centa drive, I know I have support if I run into any complications and the peace of mind knowing if or when I need to replace the rubber inserts, it can be done easily, even if I am on the road traveling when it happens
