My 2005 Aero 8 needs the parking brake adjusted. It will not hold the car in place. Where is the cable adjustment?

For my 2007 S3, in the tunnel behind the gearbox, I think. BUT you may find all the slack has gone which will require the cams in the handbrake brake calipers to be adjusted - tricky little job.
My thanks to Brian at Millers for this info as discovered at Aero's recent MOT. smile

BAM

On my S1 there is an adjuster up behind the diff, though as indicated by GGW, it's better to use the cams inside on the brake drums which, is what I did.

Cheers

I have Brembo disc brake calipers for the parking (hand)brake. I added a spacer at the caliber to effectively lenghten the cable casing thus tighten the cable. The task took less than an hour and improved the brake holding capability.
I have a .doc file with instructions and photos if anyone is interested.

Hello BAM, I appreciate that I may be "Clutching at straws" here given your post about the spacer you added was almost ten years ago - however if you are still on this forum and still have the .doc file you created I'd be very pleased to see what you achieved as I have recently purchased a Series III with the same brakes and these definitely could benefit from improved performance. Many thanks and fingers crossed!

Cheers, Paul
