Jan - the standard gearlever can be shortened quite a bit - and there is always the choice of short-/quickshift conversions And: always (!) start in 2nd gear ( ok: may be not standing on a steep hill... a VERY! steep hill in that)
It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast. 2015 Roadster 3.7

Sir P and numog,
you make my heart beat. 6 more days waiting... You both describe exactly what I was looking for. A REAL machine. Always sovereign. Able to cruise and to race. never vulgar. Perfect.
A friend of my parents always drove a Morgan Plus 8. When I was a real youngster I had the chance to accompany him. It was a formative experience.
Mont Ventoux - I did it several years ago. With an Audi A4...

What does Lambda sensors 4.8 mean on the invoice? Have bank 1 (upstream cat) left and right been replaced with wideband sensors? Bosch make different specs of Lambda Oxygen sensors. I've heard of 4.2 and 4.9. They are wideband sensors, normally only about £100 each. Don't know if 4.8 is another spec. I also notice a Lambda "conversation" at 35 quid. That'll teach you not to talk to technicians when they're hard at work. Perhaps the 4.8 reference means they are the same as fitted to the later Aero's with the BMW 4.8ltr ?

I went out yesterday to shop for the MIL so I tried gear changes between 5,000 to 6,000 rpm on the A14. My car has no rev hang so the fix works.
My long term mpg is as per this thread & inline with the handbook.
I don't normally drive at those revs but the shift was slick and clean, if anything better than at say 3 to 4k .
I just realised I have never hit the rev limiter in the 3.7 whereas on the S1 I did occasionally. Will have to try harder.

That was what I thought Dave. Keep the ECU lights off & also get a grin. I tell you what in 3rd & 4th at those revs it is fast.

Richard, we should look for a bulk deal. Libra Motive (remember them) fitted a Librands short shift to my zetec 4/4. What a change.

Definitely Graham even if hauling weight. But as I remember after your trip up in my S1 & the Adrian's 3.7 you pointed out the extra torque won. I must get there again for a blast & you would be welcome to join.
