Hi all , bolted to the back of the seat there is what I can only describe as a guide for the belt and me being quite tall when I have the driver’s seat as far back as it will go the belt gets trapped .Is this bolt on guide needed because if it wasn’t I could recline the seat further back gaining much needed inches ? ( no jokes about inches needed unless they are funny )

I recall someone fitting a taller guide to an Aero chassied car I believe. Guessing this would solve your issue especially if the new guide had rollers less likely to jam.

My 94 +8 has the belt guides attached to the seat which I assume are the same or similar to yours. The answer to your question is that the guides are not needed but you will find if removed the belt can slip off your shoulder, they are not difficult to remove so why not test and see.

I fashioned up two substantial bars to reposition the guides. L/h to keep seat belt away from her in doors neck. R/h to allow the belt to run easier.
