Slight drift ..... is there any relationship between the Landy axle and the Morgan one? .... I have a series 2 that's a very brave project/pile of spares ..... if its axles could serve as parts donors for hard to find bits then I'll hang onto it (would guess not as otherwise Morgan owners would be bidding on cheap old Landies for their axles)

Reminds me to check the breather wasn't blocked by all the painting I did on the axle while it was out.

I wouldn't have thought there'd be much. Hubs and halfshafts are very different for a start. I imagine the diff is more 'substantial' on the LR too?

Unfortunately not.

Only axle which I have come across with any possibility of interchangeability is 7HA from a Scimitar

There is also a rumour that the 7HA was also fitted to a certain milk float and a dumper truck!

Thanks guys .... guessed as much seeing as Morgan rear axles are like hen's-teeth and project Landies are cheap as chips.

Graham .. ... I ran it for years .... very original 2a ex military soft top but with a 2.8 Daihatsu diesel out of a 4 trac mated to the original transmission with a manual overdrive (even more sticks on the transmission tunnel 🙂) fast and economical for a series!! ..... sat for ten years and chassis/bulkhead rotten .... probably saveable, definitely lots of good major parts .... sadly, as I already have Mrs Image's Triumph Speed Twin in bits for resto pending the completion of the Morgan, I reckon the Landy is one too far ... have some Landy-mad friends so may pass it on for their son's project 🙂

That Daihatsu engine was really good.
I ran one for 6+ months while my 90 was in rebuild. I'd have another but they were rather prone to body rot.
As for extra sticks on the trans tunnel I have an O/D on the 90.
Enjoy the Speed Twin rebuild! smile
