The silver 3 wheeled coupe shown in the video is a one-off car built by Robert Shotwell of Minnesota when he was just seventeen years old, back in 1931. He drove it, accompanied by his brother, from Minnesota to Alaska, then to SanDiego and back home to Minnesota, sometime in the thirties, before he went on to become an airline pilot, retiring in the mid-seventies. He was very proud of his little car (and rightfully so), which he kept and drove until giving it to Jay Leno, who then did a full restoration, and added it to his automotive collection/museum. It is registered as a 1931 Shotwell. Jay Leno did an episode on the car, here’s the link:

A very nice video. I don't think I could have built a car like that at 17.

When I was an Executive at Warner Bros. my daily driver to the studios was my +8 and I would often pass Jay in one of his cars going to the NBC Studios down the road. Being the sort of chap he is he had his assistant track me down and invited me to meet him at the studios, we became acquaintances and had a few good drives together. This was of course a few years ago and he had over 100 cars, bikes, steam engines in his garage then, it was great fun visiting his garage as he knew all about his collection and best of all thoroughly enjoyed them. He has quite a team that run the garage and with all the vehicles he has I can understand why he couldn't remember how to open the boot, etc. I will say he did love his Morgan and does have a genuine affection for the brand.
