Originally I thought it might be a John Aley bar, but then I realised he had probably left the scene by 1990, so I am inclined to think it is a Safety Devices unit.
Andy I might be wrong but I think there was some connection between John Aley/Aleybars and Safety Devices Arwyn

With the seat rests right under the roll bar I have go ask if you are really sure you want to install it. I would not drive the car without a helmet than because of a possible backlash...

Lowering my seat was to get me lower anyway and has increased the head clearance that was ok but now a bit more. The Librands is a close fit under a raised roof. Any higher and the roof couldn’t be raised. The standard height bar is not race compliant but is just ok for someone of my height. If you are much taller then maybe not for you! A race spec rollbar must be high enough to give a minimum required clearance above a driver’s helmet using a line from cowl to rollbar (basically).A minor downside to the Librands is the slight intrusion into the rear shelf area. The ply base can simply be trimmed to fit round the brackets that go down to the chassis. The upper rollbar simply bolts onto these and is easily removed if necessary.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I bought the car from Rutters (they were selling on behalf of the last owner) so I will ask them. I'll also have a look under the trim for mounting holes and then start with Safety Devices if Rutters don't come up with anything.

Rutters have the Safety Devices Franchise for Morgans these days.....

What I like, Arthur is that your rollbar looks like it doesn't seem to restrict lateral movement of the head. And the integrated headrest seems to prevent the rollbar from being directly over your head, which would also be fatally dangerous if you're not wearing a helmet. Can you push the seat back as far as you can without the rollbar?
Of course, I can't judge what the effect would be if someone were to hit the stationary car, for example. It is so difficult with the Morgan to assess whether it is safer with or without rollbar, depending on the situation of an accident.

If you have a roll bar with the diagonal you MUST fit a headrest. I am aware of one very nasty accident some years ago.

Every Safety Devices roll bar has a serial number stamped on its foot. SD can tell you when it was made, for who and what car it was for.
