Sad news another rallying legend passed away yesterday at 78, a great life cut short. I saw him hustle the Quatro around the special rally stage he designed for Goodwood totally effortlessly it seemed which is the difference between great and also ran, a real Masterclass. Hannu

As an aside I always loved Tommi Makinen's dead pan answers to the idiot reporters stating the bloody obvious, they cracked me up... and always delivered with those smiling eyes

Had the pleasure of a ride with Hannu in a Quatro when he first went to Audi, driving the Trentham gardens stage as a shake down for the RAC rally, 4 wheel drive in a car was all ver new but he had no problem mastering it, a very special driver indeed
