Hello!

Against better knowledge I have ended up with one one Morgan :-) During the depressing year of 2020 I needed another project to keep my sanity...

I did end up with a 2019 Roadster and have a long list of things that I want to do with the car. One of which is a smart conversion to make it possible to both run with the original windscreen and also the Brooklands aeroscreens. I do not like the folding screen and having the Brooklands mounted all the time, but I have seen the Morganpark.de "aeroscreen kit" which looks like you have the Aeroscreens mounted on a frame together with a rearview mirror and then you quite easily can change between the aero screen frame and the windscreen.

I have sent a letter to Morganpark.de but they do not sell any kit that would fit to the Roadster so I guess the only option is to make it yourself?? Or are there other similar kits from someone else??

Have anyone here made a similar conversion? Any tips on how you made it and possibly some pictures would be really appreciated.

It looks like I also would need to rework the brackets for the original windscreen so that all bolts are from the outside as I have tested to remove the windscreen as it is now and it is too much work taking away the whole dash to get to the ONE bolt that is from the inside.....

I would appreciate any help in this matter.

Kevfitz on here made a bespoke reduced height windscreen for his Super Sport last year (but I can't find the old thread)

Nice car! Sure you want this kind of conversion? I know quite a few Morganeers that have both the folding screen and the Brooklands - so not that difficult to change. In spite of that, to this day I I have not seen the Brooklands in use - not once. Appearantly to much hassle, and not such a good idea in unstable Scandinavian weather. I do not know in what part in Sweden you live, of course you might have beautiful warm weather most of the time (I remember living six months of continous sun in Stockholm in 1988....), but if you plan to change screens back and forth frequently depending on the weather, risk is that the Brooklands will find a nice resting place in the garage. Even more hassle to change than with a folding screen. With a 2019 car I also suppose you have a heated screen that you must connect and disconnect, you have the wipers to take care of in some way etc. etc.

what a beautiful colour Roadster. I think the Italian Morgan agent also sells a frame for the aeros.

folding pillars became not possible with the heated screen & newer A pillars. I had aero screens on my 94 & 97 cars & used them regularly.

Just going to suggest that John. Almost anythings possible of course but sealing the heated screen cables from electrics behind dash, even if a quick detach connection could be utilised, would be difficult at best.

I guess the color is one of those colors you either love or hate, but I think it will look great with the Gulf-livery that is on my To-Do-List.

Robbie, of course the sensible thing would be to just keep the windscreen but removing it just gives the car completely new lines and looks sooo good:-) And remember I know all about not having a rain cover or even a proper windscreen as I drive my M3W a lot. The plan is to do most of the driving just with the Brooklands but for longer trips to Europe etc to mount the original windscreen.

Lovely looking car. I know what you mean about the Aeroscreens. My wife hired a M3W for me a few years back and I loved the wind in you face. The only way ahead for me was to sell my MOG and get a 3 wheeler or fit Aeroscreens which i did and have used all the time, but not when the Long haired Admiral is with me, in those cases it Windscreen up!

Surely would can remove your windscreen along with any wires and drill the holes required (for aeroscreens) under the part where the normal screen would normaly fit?

Not having a newer MOG i can't be sure, but if you can remove it in case of damage to the screen. What do the MOG racers do to get over this?

Well, as a M3W driver you should be used to the elements .And I agree, a Mog with just Brooklands looks magnificent. There is one in Oslo that has done away with the screen entirely, cut the A-pillars and fitted Brooklands. Fabolous! But then there is the practibililty.... My fiance would probably leave me if I got a car with no possibility of covering up, especially living in the West Coast of Norway. If you ever plan a trip to Bergen, give me a hint!
