Hi all , having never had a sound system in my +8 I was contemplating putting one in as all the wiring is there and the controls are on one of the stalks left side of the steering wheel. So the question is CD player or do they jump because of the hard ride , Vintage cassette player as I have a box full of cassettes some still in there wrapping or a Bluetooth speaker because I have Apple Music on my phone . I’ll be interested to hear what some of you have

I use Bluetooth through my phone.I don't have a stereo, but have a large portable speaker that I stick behind the seat. Lasts for hours (over 10)

I do have a little remote unit stuck on the dash, which pairs with the phone and allows me the basic functions of volume/skip/pause, so I can keep the phone in my pocket.

If I was going to hard wire anything in, I'd probably just go for a discreet Bluetooth Amplifier and a couple of speakers.

I would suggest Bluetooth speaker. The new CX cars don’t have any stereo fitted and only have the Bluetooth as an option. Far easier as it means you can both play your music/radio these days at the same time as using the satnav on your phone. Seems to me to be pretty hassle free imo
Best wishes

I have a Sony cd/radio with a USB port. I listen to music only, loaded onto a thumb drive/usb stick. It has to be pretty loud to match the dramatics of the Morgan. Any hifi pretensions are quickly dispelled, even pootling around town the stereo competes with road and traffic noise. All that is not stopping me from considering some more muscular speakers that might fit into the holes provided as those fitted sound tinny. Anyway, to your question, I have so far not used the CD player as a usb drive holds so much more music. If I had a Bluetooth unit, I would use that with one of those stick on remote control devices.

I have a radio with Bluetooth and can also play music from my mobile phone with it (and also operate the radio via an app). That is basically a good solution. Today, I would no longer install it because I hardly use it.
At normal speed, I'd have to turn it up so loud that I'd also be blasting the surroundings. I prefer to enjoy the ambient noise (including the sports exhaust).

Bluetooth does seem to be the way forward I may just put an old cassette radio in for nostalgia and to cover up where the previous owner had one there’s plenty on eBay for not a lot of money .

There are factory circular cutouts in the alloy panels behind the carpet in the footwells for 100mm speakers. The carpet is easily cut out with a Stanley knife and the speaker cables are already there.

The connector blocks for power and speakers are already behind the radio cutout too. I have a Sony Bluetooth Radio with USB and my Iphone is used as the remote and works well.

I don't use CDs at all now, they are all up in the loft. I have about 2000 tracks on a USB stick or can play music on my phone via Bluetooth.

CDs work but can jump. I have an original fitment Alpine radio CD player with USB port which I took out as I have a Sony unit with a remote. PM me if you want to buy it.
