I've just put a deposit down and collecting in April a 2005 Roadster, this is more than just dipping my toe in the Morgan water, more akin to diving in naked! I've never owned one before, I have been in a 1981 4/4 though and had many topless cars, I'm already planning upgrades/changes which may mean lots of daft questions.
Ian Good choice of Mog as they are not short on power , don't be suprised about the hard suspension , things can be done to soften the ride !

1981 4/4 and now a 2005 Roadster!? That seems to be a great "jump"! Congratulation from Northern Germany!
2005 4/4 1800ccm Duratec and a lot of HONDA CX500.......

All good choices. The sump should be #1. Also consider anti tramp bars & upgrading to new rear suspension hangers bolted to the rear drums. MMC upgraded the hanger design as it can fail. Mine failed on one sided after spirited touring down to Naples & Sorrento. I had it welded up then replaced both sides. Here is the parts book extract. Look at item 4. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/09/11/2019-09-11-13_44_04.jpg) Here is the upgraded design with shoulders to the plate ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/09/11/20190911_115700.jpg) Here is the typical failure of the old design. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/08/16/IMG-20180616-WA0004.jpg) Thanks for that, luckily the car has SSL 5 link with coil springs so I don't think this is applicable?

Welcome from west Wales Yanto.....nearly the same as Ianto the Welsh name. Pronounced the same though. Enjoy your Mog. Remember to drive it! Miles = smiles. Ask anything you want to know in here. Be wary of fish topics though! They cause mirth, merriment and thread drift "Yanto" is a nick name picked up many years ago when I was an apprentice, I grew up in a small village called Wales in South Yorkshire, not sure if you mean fishing for fish, keeping fish, eating fish or the singer Fish, your point is noted

I think the dampers use the same mounting point Are they direct from MMC or available via a dealer? Don't worry Yanto, the 5 link is completely different & uses a much more substantial lower mount as below ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/03/12/SSL-rear-Coilovers.md.jpg)
