Changing out the battery today for a new one I found the front support of the tray had parted company with the side, not a lot of weld joining them together considering the weight of the battery. several members of the french forum morgan three wheels installed the battery at the feet of the passenger.
the advantage is that the battery is no longer subject to temperature rises in the oil tank

Too late, I have welded it up now but will look at moving it as it looks a good idea👍 Put in a lighter Lithium Ion battery and the vibration will not put as much stress on it.

If you move the battery into the passenger footwell you will reduce the footwell luggage capacity to less than a useful size bag  ...but increase the under bonnet storage

having a tall wife, the footwell is not an option. She hated the little lock box I had there

I like that idea. As said it may open up the under bonnet space for luggage and lower the cars centre of gravity. 😃🙃😉
