I replaced my Contis on the 4/4 Sport at 16k miles with some Toyo's and the grip was excellent compared to the OE.
Something like Toyo's.

Thanks for all the advice so far. I placed an order yesterday with Black Circles using their website but then got a phone call saying no stock. I was offered alternatives or wait for stock to come in. It was why I contacted Vredestein GB to ask when stock was due & got the reply as in my original post.

Even if you had a good grip feeling, Richard, I wouldn't recommend a tyre that has an "E" in the wet. „ Improved fuel economy and tyre wear“ are double-edged marketing slogans. Both reduce the necessary grip in a very light car.

Yes Heinz I agree, I just found the Toyo tyres I fitted to my Sport were so much better than the Conti's which I found pretty dire tbh so it's maybe worth exploring the Toyo range..

Yes Richard, we can agree that almost every other tyre is better than the Conti. I did not want to criticise your choice which was certainly a good one at that time. cheers

Somewhat more expensive than TTrac, Blockley do a tyre in the correct size. Classic looks, but I have no experience of them.

I believe Phil Royle has these fitted and could well be along soon.

Just how bad are the Conti CT22?

Online reviews look favourable on other cars? Not on a Morgan though.

I need to replace ageing Goodyear GT80, whiuch i have never really liked.

I bought a new set of Conti CT22 for my 1954 Plus 4 about 10 years ago. They were fine in the dry but poor in the wet. My current Plus 4 had an old set of CT22s when I bought it so I quickly bought a set of T Trac 2s for it. They have been good in all conditions. Sorry to hear they are currently unavailable.

clubsport, do yourself a favour and don‘t buy those Contis. They are truly suicidal in the wet on a light Morgan.
