I'm curious to see how the new high-price customers will react to things like this. People who come from Porsche or something. They shouldn't be as capable to suffering as the old Trad customers. They expect (rightly) a problem-free car for all that money ...

Some are not so lucky with Porsche either, my brothers £70k Porsche Mecan has had so many parts replaced, one of them was a radiator

There are bound to be emerging faults with the CX cars, but what we shouldn't be seeing is the same faults which have dogged some trads......i.e. windscreen cracking and leaking radiators. The radiator issue can't be due to chassis flexing so you would assume it's quality control by the manufacturer.

One of the problems with Morgan volumes is that development is inevitably less thorough than for the high volume manufacturers. This could lead to issues such as slight errors in hose shape causing excess stress on the fittings of modern plastic and polystyrene radiators.

I think you are right on main street Paul. In my experience all low volume products are always more prone to have these kind of issues. They just can't afford to spend as much time and money in designing and testing products as their high volume counterparts. Don't forget the Plus Four is a completely new car. But what they lack in reliability they make up for in charm and the idea you drive a handmade, bespoke product made by real people instead of robots.

On the Caterham forum someone posted the answer from Caterham to a letter of somebody who was complaining about some quality issues. They responded that they do their very best to produce the best products that they can. But if they can't live with these small defects they should buy a Porsche 😀😀😀😀.

My Plus Six had an leaking A/C-Radiator, of course the problem appeared at my longest trip on one of the hottest days last summer....
My garage ordered the comparable radiator from BMW, a quick change, since then no further issues.

The only things making me crazy sometimes:
- A scratchy noise while driving off if the car has been stored for some days
- The whistle between 60 and 80 Km/h, but maybe it´s a safety feature :-D

BTW: My Dealer offers now the Boss for MotoLita!

Manfred- I think the whistle is caused by the headlight rims. If you put a bit of sponge rubber draught excluder around the top of the actual headlight so it’s under the rim when fitted, this whistle goes away - at least it did on my previous Plus4 and on my new Plus Four!!

Definitely the headlight rims.
The scratchy noise could be rusty disks.

Sticky neoprene was already fitted inside headlamp rims of my Roadster ex factory. Maybe someone forgot to add it to the build spec of CX series
