Ah! Thanks for the pic Ken - that's exactly what I have in mind. I now just need to work out some way of extending the threaded pins on the back, as they aren't long enough to fasten to some sort of clamping device at the back of the grille. Whatever I come up with have to be fairly secure so it doesn't get nicked

I went to the Factory parts department in 1995 when they were allowed to serve 'passing trade'. I needed a replacement 4/4 cowl badge. I was told that they were flat and asked if I wanted it bent to shape. Someone nipped out the back with it and returned a few minutes later. "We have a special piece of wood for that" I was informed. When I got it home it was a perfect fit! So the badge will take a degree of bending and I assume unbending with out problems.

Vincent .... you could use suitable joining connectors and bolts on the inner end to fix the badge.

The original owner of my Plus 8 specced the car without the badge on the cowl so he could put it on the grill - thought mine was the only one with the badge there! Deejay - your friend wasn't based in Edinburgh with the car built in 2003, was he? Ken, The one I mentioned is a purple Plus4 residing in North Somerset. and built in 2013.

On my 4/4 I mounted the beautiful old, three-dimensional emblem as they were used in the 1950s. Bought from Melvyn Rutter. Here, too, I had to bend something, which I did without any problems. I had to apply the black paint myself. ![[Linked Image]](https://up.picr.de/40830536du.jpg)

I still don't understand why they exchanged the beautiful old logo for the new one, which looks like it´s from a New Mini. From memory, Morgan announced the change in 2009 during the Centenary celebration at Cheltenham. They gave no explanation, that I recall. The change meant the cowl badge was standardised, across the range. So we lost the lovely model specific badges, like 4/4, +4, +8. Bud 4/4 - Stanley

Lots of good tips there everyone - what a wonderful resource this forum is! Before I do anything rash I think I might just see if Berrybrook have any experience of "bending badges". I have my MOT booked on Monday - ready for post-lockdown-phase-whatever-it-is - so I'll take the new badge with me and tap up Bradley to see what he thinks.

So ... Emboldened by advice on here, and in the spirit of "Who Dares Wins ", I took the bull (the badge) by the horns and with patient and judicious use of a well-padded vice (thanks Dave  ) achieved the following result ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2021/03/26/MOR88N-avatar.jpg) So ... I'm proper chuffed! Can't believe the difference this makes to the frontal appearance (which has irritated me for 10 years). Cheers everyone!
