It therefore follows that if the salesman is no more; Ford have correspondingly just announced the end of the Mondeo!

There was still plenty of room for negotiation on line and telephone, we engineered the flat bed delivery into the equation, no part exchange and the sales ladies name was Morgan so it was always going to work. That's interesting. I have no experience of buying cars online although I have used the configurator as far as getting a list price. Ideally the website should quote a price and then have a set of options for the customer response e.g. 'Quick, I need a defribulator', 'Please help me up off the floor when I stop laughing', etc. I think specialist / low volume sales will always need the personal relationship and advice of an informed sales person. For mainstream cars that would still be my preference as well but I'm persuaded by your positive comments on the online process.

Morgan Austria sent out an announcement that they have stopped to deal with new car imports. They will continue Morgan car service but not import new Morgan cars in the future.
Maybe only click and collect purchasing directly from Malvern for new cars in the future 🙀

Although I don't think they trade any more, our last 4 "normal" cars were all purchased sight unseen from AutoBuytel and it was always a very pleasant experience.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

The Interweb purchase experience will vary from new to pre-loved I expect.
I did a new purchase through carwow and had the registered dealers send quotes etc, found a good price, spoke to a salesperson who was actually very helpful. The car was delivered and all was well, then again it was new. And it all went pear shaped following due to the car but that's a different issue.
I would be more nervous if it was pre-owned/not still covered by the vendor warranty.
I may allegedly know someone who took one of these companies up on the "14 days or your moneyback" to save money on a car rental for his weeks UK holiday. At the end he said his missus hated the colour and it broke down.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Back in 2000 I bought a new Ford Focus. Bought via an internet importing “dealer” as that was an available method back then. I ordered a full uk spec (RHD) with colour/extras as I would through a Ford dealer. It came from a Ford dealer in Ostend, delivered by trailer to the door, taxed. I saved Over £2500 on the deal that included all costs. Never had any issues with dealer servicing. The only very minor downside was when I went to get genuine Ford spares as the car didn’t show up on the dealer database. There were great people in the dealership and never had any problems. My only reservation with buying unseen via the internet now would be sorting out problems that might crop up. Who is liable as the seller? The dealership the car came from or the online agent? It would be interesting to see the legalities, probably encompassed by t&c’s.
