For the first time ever I put one of my cars on SORN... my Morgan. The combination of Covid, not much fun on salty roads and ridiculous Road Tax costs made me give it a go.
The car now has no Road Tax and no MOT - still insured of course.
I assume I can drive it to it's pre-booked MOT in May despite not having any Road Tax? Once MOT'd I could tax it from my mobile phone from the garage?
This is my plan, which research seems to say is quite OK.
Unless someone knows different......?

OK great.... reassuring. It's a distance to drive and lots of ANPR en route!

Having used it on the road I think you will have to tax it from the beginning of that month.

Are you sure about that, Graham? No, unfortunately. I haven't had time to do a proper check. If the car failed the MoT one couldn't tax it anyway.

Why not ask the MOT test center. It must be a common problem.

When you tax mid month, it always back dates to the start of the month.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.
