Hello, all. I have always been a regular viewer but have seldom posted. I have changed Morgans a number of times over the years, owning a Plus4, Roadsters (both engines), Aero Plus 8, S5 and M3Ws. I am currently the proud(ish) owner of a Plus6 and I have to confess, I miss the V8. The auto, turbo Plus6 is a bit too sanitised for my liking. So, I am thinking of going back. I would prefer a Plus 8 but they are like hen's teeth and of all the cars I have owned, I regret selling this one the most. However, I loved the S5 and an Ivory, manual car has just gone on sale at the factory. Does anyone know anything about this car's history? It appears very well looked after from the photo's but I would welcome any forum knowledge before I head down there to look. Thanks, all. Chris

I think it's the same car that was for sale with Oakmere Morgan for the last 12 months. Lovely looking car. Not sure how the Works have it now.

Best to read this thread if considering this car so you can understand the pricing of this one and it's undeclared history.

My sympathy is with you Chris yearning for the V8 sound, very recently I nearly jumped ship for a new Plus Four but after a 100 mile blast around the countryside on a protracted shopping run decided I would miss the Plus 8 too much so she seems to be my keeper now.
Several people on here expressed their regret at selling on their Plus 8 too so I listened to their advice and my heart told me I wasn't ready.

If money is no object this is pretty special.

Good luck with your quest.

£140k for a Plus 8?
I paid £65k for mine in 2014...
I've insured it on the basis that it is worth £65k.
Perhaps I've under insured it?

Is that Series 5 chassis #3, which was used by the factory for the very early test drives?
(If it is, I've driven it :-) )

If so, it'll have been well-maintained, used when warmed through, and won't have been ragged (because there would've been a passenger from the factory). And you'd hope that if loaned to journalists it would've been thoroughly prepped before & after. Not unlike Peter's development/demo Plus 8.

The only risk I see here is that the outer seat bolsters might have worn from many short journeys.

I'd be interested to hear what "eligible for factory bespoke customisation programme" means - does that mean they'll throw in some parts & labour at a good price, to move the car?

Will

I think you should be at least 20k higher Peter. If it came down to it, how much would you have to pay to get another or for a major rebuild?

Graham, I think you may be right: I'll talk to the broker.
Probably mean the premium will go up!!

Deffo needs the value raising Peter, late Roadsters are 65k, nice Plus 8's on the Aero platform £80-85+

Interesting, when I drove it there were rear pipes fitted - it has had the sidepipes added since.
Not sure if that means it has a different rear valance as you can see slots where the exhausts used to go, not sure if this was different on cars with sidepipes from new?

Looks well looked after though. smile
