Is it possible to increase the clearance between sports seat and 14 inch steering wheel on my 2011 Roadster?
Wondering if the seat would still slide if the wooden wedges under seats were removed altogether or is this not recommended for whatever.
Thinking a 13 inch steering wheel may be a bit of a struggle.
My 5 foot 9 frame takes a little longer to enter/exit,could I use the grease gun on my ageing joints😆
Any thoughts please.

The factory steering wheel on my 3.7 Roadster was found to be only 13 inches nominal diameter. I wanted a smaller wheel as with standard power assistance steering was too light. On advice I ordered a 13 inch wood rim Moto-Lita as they turn out to be smaller than advertised. Pleased to find mine little more than 12 inch nominal diameter and everything I'd hoped for without looking too small.

Compliments indeed although with that colour you have to keep on top of it. Thanks Craig thumbs

Have a look here: http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/604663/re-13-steering-wheel#Post604663

I had the same problem and change over to a 13“. But last year I feel the difference in driving just change over from my plus4 to a 14“ steering plus4 in a minute.

After some days I change back to 14“. To leave or enter the MOG I move the seat back.

You can get off centre Mota Litas as well. I had one on my +4. That gives more thigh room.
I agree the seats on the Roadster are difficult to move.

That’s what I have. Works well, but can feel a bit weird when negotiating hairpins as the wheel is eccentric.
Also found that originally, I could not get my seats to slide all the way back, as the runners were gone bananas due to the fulcrum effect of a protruding bolt head under the runners. Removing seats and sinking a shallow blind hole into the floorboards, cured the problem.

The seat runners are not flush with floor and bow when bolted down. Chopping off the excess thread of a fixing below that causes this and corresponding relief of carpet and wooden floor below to accomodate remaining nut helps reduce bowing. This followed by a thorough grease of runners should have them moving smoothly.

ETA: I did consider the offset Moto-Lita but the smallest size they do is 14 inch.

I removed the wooden runners on the driver’s side of my 2002 Plus8. I don’t know if your car has them but if so it is an option. I did put thinnish spacers back though as that made seat movement easier. There were bolt heads that needed clearance. This gave about 1” extra clearance.
A couple of points.......
You might lose some rear movement of the seat as it can, if lowered, hit the wheel arch..
The rear bolt on the runners can be fiddly to fit a spanner on. I used a small Stilson that fitted in (end on) to remove but then used socket head bolts when refitting.
I kept the original bolts in case I decide to replace the wooden runners.
Check underneath the car for how long the bolts stick through. Trim if needed.
Steering wheel options are go smaller diameter but if heavier steering becomes a problem power steering upgrade ( not cheap!) would help, removably wheel if getting in and out is a problem. I also changed from a wooden wheel to a Moto Lita leather one. It was thicker and more tactile.
