It’s not the release that’s the main problem it’s pulling the damn thing so it lines up for the studs. I double I could get in with a hard top.... would hate the car with a hard top.
The big C is in my bones as well so flexibility is compromised... that’s my excuse as I don’t mention the big belly 🤣
BR Colin (I think it will be a case of live with it and remember I was a biker for 25 years or sell it and but something with the MMC or Simmonds hood)

Further question on the two 'boxes ...
Do they both (MT75 and Mazda) use coaxial slave clutch cylinders within the bell housing in the Morgan implementation? If so how have people fared with possible slave cylinders that need changing; engine out I assume?

Colin, Do you have tensioners on the hood? They make it easier to fit and then pull levers to tension. Keep smiling.

Hi Phil Yes I do thanks, fitted them last summer but not tried the hood yet. The biggest issue I had was pulling it between the top of the screen studs, Shaun (AWSC) said to put it on the screen first with the levers slack, then the rear studs and finally raise the frame with the levers. Time will tell buddy and I hope a solution will sort itself out one way or other as I don’t want to stop Morganning. Hope your well Colin

If you remember with RTA, the only way I could put the hood on was to put the screen fasteners on first, then the rear and then try to get the hood frame up into final position. Couldn't fit the hood swivels with bench seat.

I think I'm confused here, between gear boxes and hoods ;-) I have an 09 Duratec +4 with ford gear box, the box isn't perfect but it is in reality absolutely fine, my wife is now on her third MX5, so I'm very familiar with the mx5 boxes both 5 & now 6 speed, the MX5 boxes are outstanding and if I ever need to change a clutch on the +4 it would probably get the Vitesse mx5 box but, the longer throw and odd ratios of the ford do not detract from my enjoyment of the +4, there is far to much going on to worry about gear ratios. If I want to drive something with perfect balance and ratios I can borrow her mk4 MX5, it hasn't happened yet! So I wouldn't be overly concerned, the box can be changed easily if its a problem for you, the colour spec feel and character of the actual car you drive is not so easy to change.
