My side screens have gone quite opaque over the ensuing 37 years, has anybody got a suggestion on how to clean them, I have a morgan 4/4/4, yes there is such a car, 4 wheels 4 cylinders, and 4 seats, so it has twice as many side screens as 2 seaters. I tried using that stuff that cleans headlights only it made them worse. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. (new ones are unbelievably expensive)

Many Thanks,

Rod (Swordfish)

Just replace the "Perspex"

There are companies that will cut to size or you can buy a sheet and cut it yourself.

It's a bit tricky but if you warm the Perspex, it will bend enough to pop out and replace. Don't attempt to do it in freezing cold conditions.

That's from my 2 seater experience but don't imagine it's that different on the 4 seater.

Perhaps this helps (there is not only the type of material but also some advices for cleaning):

However, the information concerns the material that is currently being used. It was certainly not the same 37 years ago.
In any case, if you want to replace the screens, I would use the current one.

GoMog has dimensions & advice for 2 seaters. I did it on my 4/4 years ago & have 2 panels for a 2 seater if that helps anyone.

I have had success cleaning the windscreen/side screens with a home made vinegar and rubbing alcohol solution, mix 1 cup distilled water with 1 cup of rubbing alcohol and two tablespoons of white vinegar put in a spray bottle and shake well to make sure mixture doesn't separate. Spray directly on glass or perspex and use micro cloth to clean and wipe off.

Not sure about sidescreens but I use Sovol Autosol to polish plastic headlights that have clouded.
