Let's hope the battery will last longer than my Roomba. Both in terms of time and distance.

You pay extra for a very long cable and a cat to sit on top just like the Roomba laugh2

I'll reserve judgement until it's lost the Baja/Battleship looks grin2
I hope it's EV, less chance of getting the drivetrain wrong innocent

Rear wheel hub motor would get rid of heaps of complications.

I think part of the appeal of the M3W is its connection to motorcycles, especially naked bikes. I don’t think the Ford powered 3 wheelers had as much appeal. Using a fwd power unit from a small car would require conversion to rear wheel drive- not easy. This leaves BMW motorcycle power units. I first suggested the 1250 unit but after further research I think their new R18 would be a better fit. This is a new 1800cc power unit putting out 90 hp. If hung out in front the wide horizontal cylinders could be accommodated similar to the current set up. If the driveshaft were extended to their rear wheel it should be very reliable. They also have an electric powered reverse.
The recent spy shot however does not support my concept!

Possibly, but probably only for those who have never ridden a bike - like other trikes, they have all the bad bits of motorcycles -no weather protection, limited luggage capacity, plus all the bad bits of cars - getting stuck in traffic/unable to filter, average performance etc

I'd love to have an old 3 wheeler, but the reality is that if the circumstances were right to use her, I'd probably take a bike.

A M3W must be driven for the fanciness, not for the practicality.
it's just a pity I cannot convince the wife.

I'm very lucky - I'm allowed to buy what I like with my money. The downside is I have little smile smile smile

However, I did have to promse to remove the bike from the patio now the better weather is coming, and remove the car ramps from the greenhouse.

Same here. But since I do not have a lot of free time, it would end up in never using it since anyhow with the wife we would always take the other cars (not that there are too many, just two).

Personal view is that if Morgan do not go electric with this, they will struggle to get a decent return over the model lifecycle - numbers will be limited and even more so as the sticker price goes up - cannot see it coming in much below £50k which is a lot for what is realistically a toy and the market for such toys is limited.

Emissions for IC engines are tight and getting tighter and the control systems are getting ever more complex.

An electric drive train is relatively simple, reasonably upgradeable and will have a decent life for the model.

I also suspect the current M3W has not made them any real money with all the chassis rebuilds and various upgrade programmes to cover emissions/other regulations so the new investors will be making sure this one pays out.....
