I`ve just had news that due to a tweak of the regulations it will not now be possible for spectators to attend the Donington Historic Festival this year. I`m gutted as I was looking forward to the event - but hey!! MSV will contact ticket holders about refunds in due course.

I've only been once and it was like a tour of duty on the Russian Steppes. Freezing cold wind, muddy access roads and a totally miserable experience.
I know it improved after that, but being early in the year, the weather is dodgy and Donington isn't a great place to be in bad weather,
However the cafe & hospitality unit in the paddock is well worth a visit.

I think they are feeling stitched up  Very good! They should have read the original "Easing plan" - patently obvious large groups would not be allowed so early in the season...

There were 4 posted yesterday and no less than 8 threads on the Doninigton Historic 2021: this and here, here, here, here, here, here and here! 5 of those started by Phil! At the risk of sounding a grump or a nanny (or, heaven forbid, a pedant) - Phil if you're reading, it is good forum etiquette to continue a conversation in an existing thread rather than start a brand new post each time you have something to say. It's also helpful to post in the correct place, only one of the eight is in the Meets & Events forum! Lesson ends.

I am watching the Silverstone Classic news. Carried tickets and hotel over from last year. Maybe lucky there due to the wide open spaces. The crowded areas tend to be the food/shops/garage and pits areas. There is plenty of room in the stands to watch ron track racing and the Morgan parking should be back in its trackside spot. Also the double decker shuttle buses. Being able to get up close in the garages is a huge plus. In 2019 we had a great chat with the owner of the DeWalt Aero in there.
The evening concerts might be avoidable too.

In other news ..... the Fraserburgh Vintage Car Rally has been cancelled for the second year running .... the finest (and only) classic/vintage/stationary engine show held in Fraserburgh .... seriously though, for this area with its scarcity of outlet for the ageing petrolhead that's a major blow! .... mostly outdoors, but does tend to get crowded and a bit chaotic ..... fine in normal times but doesn't have the resources to dragoon the unruly populace of the NE to the required standards I suppose 🙁
