Apple make some top products and has always taken the more innovative approach than PC. Like anyone his age, he died far too early, RIP.

As per Aeroman's comments, there is little more to add, other than RIP.

Ironically for something that in the past has been so 'white goods' but I can still remember buying my Mac Mini in 2004. Lasted me 6 years and never put a foot wrong. With a new-fangled TFT it also looked the business and was full of 'surprise and delight' features.

People thought they were mad but nowadays having a little box under your TV controlling everything, from music to movies streamed from the internet, is perfectly normal.

My first computer was an Apple II europlus with a clacker drive.
I became a field engineer for Apple Centre Farnborough.
I fixed II, III, Lisa, all ranges of Mac from the 128 to SE+.
I fixed the Mac II range until the LC when I quit as they were rubbish and had lost their way.
I then flipped and did the MS thing.
Now I run bootcamp for the best of both on my MBP !

The day Steve came back you could see them regain their stride.

Today they are one of the key companies I work with and I welcome each and every opportunity. They have the "special" manner of a driven company at every turn. From the senior management to the shop floor staff they have the same objective. Customer Experience.

There has been little comment from the staff considering the position he held in the company which has surprised me. I figure they are a proud company following in his footsteps at this point.

I am out in Cork with them for the launch this week. It will be interesting to see the mood.

Do times change ? Stand at the metal detectors at LCY airport and see how many beautiful Aluminium things (often in groups of 3 - Mac, iPad, iPhone) go through. Almost dominant.

If heaven is perfect then maybe he can finally relax and see what he achieved.

I will miss the influence he has on my working day.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
