Go to Youtube and search "how to check O2 sensors". Not trying to be a smart ass, as there are really are a lot of good info online. I prefer the video format for DIY. Here's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uqmYkl7t0c

Well it's been an entire year now. Back in September I spent deal of time on the phone and hooked up by computer with very concerned but ultimately unsuccessful tech at S&S. We tweeked the program, cleaned up some "clutter". Bupkis. Last November I, with great reluctance, took off the heads and sent them to the well regarded local machinist. The intake valves were leaking. Why this should be happening to a motor with only 18k on it is a mystery neither S&S nor Malvern have any comment on. S&S heads need a unique porting rig which was, of course, back ordered from China. When this precious item finally arrived it was revealed that S&S has discontinued the valve guide seals for the XWedge. The work around for this, the "current solution", as S&S calls it, is new springs and guide seals, $285. This, sadly, reminds me of when the cam belt failed from too much desert heat. I was recommended the "heat conversion". For three- hundred plus bucks I was provided with a new pair of idlers I didn't need, a new belt tensioner I didn't need, a new belt, and key to it all, four 2mm aluminum flat washers to place between the cam chest cover and the engine block. These last to provide an air vent to the belt. Hands down the most expensive washers ever. Least I hope so. Anybody out there got a line on the old guides with the built in shim? The "current solution" replacement springs are, of course, back ordered until May.

Hello Everyone,
Mentioned earlier in this thread is 'check the cam timing" - How do I do this?
I also have random difficulties in starting - seems to be getting slightly worse - wonder if the timing has slipped.
Any help/guidance is appreciated
Thanks Andrew

Thanks Andrew If you have never removed your cam timing belt then it is likely in the correct place. If you want to check it then there are instructions in the X-Wedge Manual for belt removal and replacement.

Thanks Stephen Belt has been off several times (not by me) MMC & 1 other. Currently 569 easy start cams, MMC stage 1 sports exhaust - de baffled, No cats, G56 stage 2 ECU, S&S Muscle air filter
I remember a few months ago I changed down gear when approaching a tight corner (too quickly) - this caused the revs to rise to the max/limit briefly, before I pressed the clutch again. Seems to have been getting harder to start since then. Could this cause the belt to jump - or pulley slip?
Thanks Andrew

An over rev on the over run can do lots of bad things, but not likely to cause issue with cam timing. Easy enough to check though by removing the front cover and rotating the engine by hand (or rocking the machine when in a higher gear) to see if the marks line up (see the S&S manual).
You mentioned revs went "to the max/limit" briefly. As a reminder, the ECU rev limiter will not/does not work on a 'mechanical' vehicle speed induced over rev such as you would have experienced. You may have gone well past any sort of safe limit for any number of engine parts.
