I've not heard of a DIY but MMC remove the body to carry out chassis changes..

I believe it to be relatively straightforward as the body is mounted by a mixture of bolts to the chassis and rivets to the ash frame. You might glean some info from the Parts book available from the Morgan Three Wheeler Club website

I have that book! good idea. yes. I also watch the TV show "How Its Made Dream Cars: Morgan Three Wheeler" to see how easily they attach the body to the frame (there are a few things under the bonnet you'd have to take off the body 1) remove battery and fixings, 2) brake reservoir, the pedal assembly and hosesl) and 3) interior leather bits, 4) dashboard; 5) rear tire boot tub). Anything else? Isn't the rest taking off shell and sanding, priming and spraying outside and inside tub......no?

if you look at NGWclub.com (a site about older goldwings). In the shop talk section there is a "How-To" on painting. I put it together several years ago.

90% of the work is the prep work. If the prep is not PERFECT everything else will not be perfect!

Get good quality auto two-part paint. Get a respirator, at least a 5hp compressor, a quality gun, and make sure your paint area is WELL VENTILATED!

I have painted several motorcycles. It is fun a rewarding, but I have had to sand down some crappy jobs along the way.

One other thing, even high quality automotive paint will not stand up to dings like OEM.

Does anyone know if you can remove the paint and polish the body or does the factor use a lot of filler before painting??
