Hi All

Just an advance notice that I am probably going to put my 2012 4/4 Sport up for sale. No need for violins as I am a year past the ‘best prognosis’ given me when Stage 4 cancer was diagnosed in 2019. It’s reached the point where physically I am not able to get out of the car with ease, or even at all. Ravages of chemo on my muscles and all that. The big C is also in my bones and lymph nodes.

I need to think about this as I sold a +4 before and regretted it, I have only done just over 1,000 miles in this 4/4 since buying it and added a couple of thousand pounds of accessories! So need to be sure.

I also need to sort some photos and a spec list as it’s very high spec being the ex Williams demo car so has lots on it to showcase what they could do.

Breaks my heart as I have said many times before it’s the best I have ever had in 20 years of wonderful Morgan ownership.

Please keep an eye on the Sales and Wants forum if your interested, please give me a day or so.

No rush if someone needs time, with a pal it could be delivered anywhere mainland U.K. I guess.

BR

Colin, sorry to read this but wish you well with the sale of your treasure I'm sure it will find a good home on here.

Draw on the untold pleasure of your 20 years of enjoyment, many just have an SUV or tractor to drive and never experience the joy of motoring such as you have during your very varied and entertaining career.

Thanks guys, seriously though no need to be sorry or worry as I am not planning on going anywhere (the big guy may have other ideas ;-)) from initially being told 6-9 months, maybe a year we are coming up to 2 years so no complaints.

To ge honest I miss working on the cars as much as driving them, getting them spot on was a source of great satisfaction. This car is just about the bees knees and that’s the hardest part. If my son were not a 6’ 5” ex Leicester Tigers second row he would have his name on it ;-).

Best wishes Colin, with the sale and with life as it moves forwards.
I am certain someone here will be willing to take you out when you need a little lift.

Just read this thread... I hope you can sell your Morgan quickly and fuss free chum. I can well understand that you miss working on cars, as do I, it`s in the blood I guess but the passage of time catches up with us all. I can still get in and out of my Morgan but it is taking ever more effort to drive it which leaves me wondering about the sense in holding on to it, though there is still a degree of pleasure in knowing it is in the garage... for now. Lots of happy memories, and one of a weekend in the lakes with you just waiting for me to try to leave you behind.... Fortunately I was not foolish enough to even think to try...(-:

Look after yourself WELL Colin.

Wonderful memories George of meeting Sandra and yourself. Lovely run out.
