It certainly looks like the spring part has sheared or been removed, but if you have an expansion tank then it's not needed. Ford Capri cap is not pressurised and I think is the right one. Ford Capri

Looks like what we (at BL back in the day) called a ‘Blanking Cap’ used when a header tank was added to a cooling system so the conventional radiator pressure cap was replaced with a blanking cap and the header tank had the pressure cap.
It was a job often done to Dolomites, Stags etc with overheating issues. Some models came off the production line with thus set up as OE.
Might be worth Googling Blanking Cap or ringing a company like Rimmer Brothers.

Just a thought, with his experience and manufacturing I would check with Simon at SiFab first as he may well have one in his shelf? Worth a call.

It looks very similar to the blanking cap fitted to my T16 Engined +4. Rimmer Bros website would be a good start as Colin suggests.

Thank you all, of course it's a blanking cap: Think I may have just had my first senior moment Had been fettling the OH Fiat 500, checking levels etc, which in common with most modern cars doesn't have an accessible rad, just an expansion tank. I think being presented with both expansion tank and radiator cap in the Morgan engine bay, coupled with the first real sunshine here this year had me cooked for a bit! Yes, blanking cap on the rad, expansion tank to the side, with 15lbs pressure cap; all correct and present, and run up to pressure and temp after fixing the subtle pfft ppfft of a pinhole in the overflow pipe from the rad filler neck to the expansion tank! Thanks for helping clear the confusion: I'm off for a lie down....

I bought a new blanking cap for my previous 4/4 off the shelf at Halfrauds. Might need another for the present 4/4.

Still time to use the 10% mscc discount, or the AA, or probably any....actually seem pretty fair price at car builder solutions. I just got a second hand rad from a 2003 +8, which the vendor chose to keep the blanking cap for spare... My current rad is due a re core: its "temporarily" sorted with radweld stuff at the moment, and needs the mounting bobbins replacing, so I thought I'd have one on hand to swap out straight away, then I'm not waiting (im) patiently to get back on the road.
