For my 1993 +8, I have a Rutherford hardtop which I plan to use on quicker sprint tracks. After much re-engineering, the top is an excellent fit, but I'm having some difficulties with the front mountings (the ones at the front corners). The current mountings are flat "elbow" brackets which attach to the top of the draught excluders, and the extent of flex/scuttle shake led to one of the brackets fracturing. North Yorkshire roads don't help here, either......

If any of you have hardtops fitted, please could you let me know how the front corners are mounted on your car - and if you could include a picture, that would be even better.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Dave

Dave I have a factory hard top. The front fixing are the same as the factory easy up hood, as were the rear ones. I had to modify the rear ones as factory had the pins only hanging by a thread. The hard top needs slightly longer pins than the soft top. If you want some pics PM me with your e-mail.

Thanks for the reply, IcePack. I've got a standard 90s factory hood, so nowt as sophisticated as the easy up that you are blessed with. That's part of the problem - there's very little to attach anything to on the factory 10 stud windscreen!
