If your smart phone (Droid and Apple) is in a default state it is fully archived to the iCloud/NSA. Find another handset wipe it and enter your username and password, 95% recovered in five mins. You wouldn't need to wipe it - just install the Tesla app... you'd be on your way in minutes - you could even drive home and get the key card. Have I ever lost my phone? Nope. As you say, the phone is backed up in the cloud, a 5 minute job to get back on a different phone. The car can also be driven (and payments made) via a smart watch too. I guess you could lose that too... naked on the side of a motorway... at night. It could happen. Technology such as this, electric seats, electric mirrors, contactless payment etc is never going to appeal to certain types - I can imagine similar protests when the internal combustion engine was first introduced and threatened horse-drawn carriages. Most have never owned or driven such a car, as a consequence opinions are rather uninformed.

I was taken for a drive in a Tesla 3 yesterday. I was surprised that I was very impressed. I was even more surprised that SWMBO was also impressed. We also discovered that at least 3 bales of horse bedding will fit in the boot.
I think we need a proper test drive. Virtually free motoring: we generate our own electricity. Low servicing costs.
This is your fault, Neil.

Glad you enjoyed it Peter. Was it the long range or Performance version. The pace of the long range one is plenty for me and Her Ladyship and it can be quite a hoot... HB

The Model S will offer an even bigger boot and frunk Peter. Could be as many as 10 bails, just think of the reduced number of visits...
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

We have had a Model 3 at work now for just over a month, it's done 2,500 miles and is running at 180 miles per gallon (easier for me to work it out that way as opposed to KWH etc) so far all good no complaints from the employee the opposite in fact. Pretty certain there'll be a few more here within this financial year. I will be getting one, as I will be commuting some 40k a year soon, so the Alfa Stelvio Quadrifoglio will be out of the picture at an average of 18mpg The savings made not only on the fuel but on the contract hire will enable a stable mate for the P101...subject to pandemics / recessions.

... he's making a limited run of 21 of the new breed cars that he's named Kraken. Not after any liquid beverage or a sea monster, but from a chance chat with a spectator in Devon who told him "He's a crackin' car, mate".....Mine will have a slightly longer cockpit for my long legs, but is a 1600cc MazdaMX-5 Mk1 based version. ... Is your Kraken running yet? I see one did well in the Exeter trial!
