I first met Austin after offering him a bed for the night as a pit stop on the way down to the 2017 MTWC Opening Run at the Wolverton museum in Milton Keynes. His throttle cable broke 10 miles away from us and after calling a recovery truck, in typical Austin style he managed to affect a temporary repair and limp on to get here. I can’t help feeling that most people would have waited for the recovery truck and headed home. Not Austin! The next day we set off for MK with some trepidation and needless to say there were one or two stops to ‘improve’ on the repair.

It was on that trip that Austin heard me chirp my rear tyre during an enthusiastic take off. That was it! From that moment on, his sole purpose in life whenever we met seemed to be to get me to go racing. I’m sorry to have been a disappointment to you Austin!

Austin was one of those really positive people in life who never seemed to have a bad word to say about anybody and had seemingly unlimited energy and enthusiasm. He will be greatly missed.

Very sad news. A true enthusiast. Thinking about his family at what must be the most difficult and shocking of times.

So sad and indeed a message to us all - his illness seems to have crept up on him so quickly, proving that you really do have to enjoy life to the full whenever you can. His Curburough Sprint Taster was an excellent event and the first time I really chatted to Austin. His car stopped on one run and was towed/pushed back to the paddock where he started pulling all sorts of things off to try and find the fault. How he laughed when someone simply pressed the fuel cut-off button and it fired back into life. Thoughts to all his family....

Very sad news. Austin will always be remembered as the perfect gentleman and a great enthusiast for racing and the M3W.
Our thoughts are with his family. R.I.P Austin

Oh that’s really sad

What a shock

I met Austin a good few times and loved his enormous enthusiasm for his 3 wheeler, all things Morgan, racing and life

He was a regular at lots of Morgan events in the North West . I last saw him at Liverpool Cars and Coffee I think or it could have been the Lifes Motors anniversary event

Rest in peace tall fella

I didn't know Austin. But as I routinely peruse this forum for insights to help me enjoy and improve my own 3W, his contributions hit home.
Condolences to his family and friends.
Bravo Zulu.
