I was intrigued by the pre launch drawings and the write-ups after the launch but didn't expect to do anything about it as I already had a Ferrari 355 spider as a "toy" car.
Then in mid 2013 I happened to be passing Bell & Covill and noticed a new Morgan sign so I dropped in out of curiosity. They were only just taking on the dealership but had a M3W which I asked if I could sit in to see if I could fit. I decided it was too small but Richard, the salesman, said why didn;t I come back and test drive it anyway. I did drive it and confirmed it was too small and though that was that.
But whenever I went along a fun bit of road I found myself wondering what it would be like in the Mog. Richard phoned a few weeks later to see how I was and when I told him he immediately said come and drive it again. This I did and then ordered one straight after and put the F car up for sale!
It was delivered in Nov 2013, like Black Adder's just a few weeks before the announcement of the 2014 upgrades.
Since then I've been through most of the trials and tribulations of owning one of these but these are far far outweighed by the fun, camaraderie and friendships forged over 7 years and 35,000 miles.
With the ending of production and some aligning of the financial stars I too have ordered one of the last production cars and hope to be getting it in another few weeks.

I'd been looking at getting a toy and couldn't make up my mind whether to get a Hot Rod (family discount was a big factor, although not that much of a discount it has to be said dear Brother ) and I was quite taken with Triking but neither really grabbed me. I read various press articles about the all new and improved Morgan 3 Wheeler ("improved" ). Had a Google and found I was between two dealers BHM and Rutters, Dartford crossing too much of a pain so I called Uncle M and arranged a test drive. In general unless extremely lucky an Uncle M test drive is approximately a 3 mile round trip but that was all I needed and I was hooked. Took delivery sometime 2013, can't actually recall the month. Then spent the next year going round the bend with the little "Bitch" (car was renamed to this and gearknob was adorned). Car spent more time off the road than on and was part ex'd in July 2014 for a four wheeled Morgan. Do I regret giving up so soon, yes. So although I am stretching myself, I am awaiting delivery of a new Morgan P101. I have ordered various spare parts (Thanks to the fantastic Alternative parts list) and I am totally convicted to keeping this "Bitch Mk2" on the road (Gearknob is waiting!) Hopefully my fellow 3 Wheelers can forgive my weakness, I was young ger, impatient and foolish. Now I'm older, unfortunately the rest is the same...

Glad you appreciate the Alternative Parts List PeterG and good to see you back. The list may become larger and more important over the coming years.... I was always impressed with your perseverance MichaelH, it was difficult enough running a M3W in the UK in those early days but over in the USA it must have been a nightmare. It is good to see that our joint efforts (plus a little help from MMC) has produced a car that is as much fun as it should be.

My dealer indicated that Morgan determined that they had another four engines that had not been allocated so they quickly sold those allocations as well. Those four will be limited option cars since I think they don't have all the option parts available.
If they do restart tours mid-May, it sounds as if there may only be a few days between the tours and final production.

Interesting to read here that a few of those who took the plunge with an early M3W, now have orders in for end of production cars. Also those who had endured the pain and costs of early ownership, with some selling and coming back in again at a later date, and those that just hung on in, now enjoying their early upgraded cars. Good to know we got there in the end! My own M3W journey started when I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i_-INnFmrMIt became reality in August 2013. My car was listed on eBay by Berrybrook Morgan. It was 3 months old with just 300 miles on the clock, the original purchaser exchanging it for a Plus 4 due to having difficulty driving it. The car was delivered to me by Berrybrook on a flatbed. I had never seen one in the flesh before, only seeing them on YouTube and the photos of my car listed on eBay. Visually I wasn’t disappointed! On my first drive, I was impressed with the driving experience, but I soon realised there were some big issues with the car, as the bevel box started to sing, and the compensator began to clatter. Not forgetting the bump steer experience. I drove my car back to the factory in March 2014 to start my upgrade journey, having a replacement bevel box, Centa drive and other upgrades. A much better drive back home. Yes, other issues occurred along the way, and it went back to the factory, but I hung in and ended up with a well sorted out car. As previously mentioned in this thread I sold my car in 2019 thinking that was the end, but it was only a month before I had a deposit on a new one. Morgan gave us one of the most unique vehicles on the planet, driving it down the road, with all the smiles, waves and looks as you drive by, just confirms this.

I got taken for a passenger "test" ride at the 2011 Silverstone Classic in the black pre production development car.
Deposit followed very soon after and collection in Feb.2013
The rest is history.
And as Michael H puts it so well the cost of ownership is comparable to my friends DB9. But the sheer pleasure of driving it and the camaraderie of the wonderful people I have met along the way is priceless.

That brings back some memories. That was the first development car and I was lucky enough to be in passenger seat at which point I was in. Collected mine in Feb 2012 and a few months latter set off with junior in the passenger seat to Lemans for the classic. I was lucky and had very few issues with mine in the 5-6 years I owned it. I have some memories of taking it on pistonhead runs and being laughed at but that soon stopped on the country roads when they realised how well it handled and drifted around bends along a trip into Central London with Aeroman in his and the expression from the tourists. Mrs A hated the car so it wasn't getting used much so it was time for a change and it was put in as px for a +4 clubsport to go racing. She likes this one even less but it does have the advantage of only having one seat It'll be interesting to see what comes next.
