Hi All,
I have a 1997 +4 T16 which has a Rover engine, would I be right to assume that this is a Rover 820 engine?
I ask this because being of an age of 24 years i'm going to be looking for spares so it is a great help to find these when I can put Rover **** into search engins which they will recognise rather than Morgan +4 which puts them into a spin........
Thanks for your help and advice chaps......
Rob....

Yes indeed the Rover M16 and T16 engines came from the Rover 820.
Not sure of the year of changeover between the 2 types but you can be sure that the MMC change would have been both later and rather blurred. However I think 1997 is a long way into the T16 era so you should be OK.

97 was a T16, at least mine was. If it has a distributor then it is an M16

My 1994 +4 4 seat was a T16, still on DVLA Database, MOT and Taxed with its current owner. Lovely little car that I bought back in 2001.

From my old Rover days I recall the T16 engine arrived at the time of the 1991 facelift which rover called 1992 model year cars - the ones that had the grill on in the bonnet. The M16 was fitted upto 1991 in Rovers. No idea what Morgan had laying around but suspect later cars will use the T16. I bet there are more Morgans running around with this engine than 800s these days.
