S1 4.4L had no VANOS and 286 bhp S2 & 3 4.4L had single VANOS (input I think) and so needed sump pickup but not dramatically different. S4/Max/Coupe/SS/S5 gained the 4.8L dual VANOS which had the bigger sump and so could suffer from a haircut.
I think the guard we are discussing (Wolf) fits to the main engine block and not across the chassis so will be specific to the 4.8L at a guess but I am not the expert.
When I look under the S2 I am not inclined to get a cold sweat like I do when I look under the Coupe!
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Not sure Cain looks at his emails very often.
I’m desperate for new Carlos Fandango Discs for mine.
Also, would his sump guard fit an S1? And now you're sorted! The S1 engine is very different and the sump protector wont fit

Yes Simon
Good work, super efficient, looking forward to receiving my Carlos semi floaters and sticky pads.

Welcome to the Aero World.
My 2014 Plus 8 is an S4 Aero with a diminished body, mechanically it is the same.
Another vote for the Wolf sump rubbing plate. Mine is marked, the lowest point on the sump is the oil filter housing, this is plastic. If broken the oil pump dumps all the oil on the ground in less than 60 seconds...
On my car the fuel gauge works well, it is really accurate down to 15% and the warning light comes on at 5%, but ONLY ON LEVEL GROUND: I've no idea why my gauge should work when so many are virtually random number generators.
The best modification, in my view, that can be made to any S4 Aero is SSL replacement springs and shocks. The result is an improved ride and better grip.

Couldn't agree more Peter... We're sure the anticipated sump plate will make quite a difference to our drive - at the moment we're constantly trying to spot the various divots in the road from some distance. And Mrs Mogoo has been enjoying a much smoother ride since we had the SSL conversion

Where can you get the SSL conversion done and what is the approximate cost? Can this be completed on a 2007 Series III Aero?
Cheers, Paul

Here: http://www.suspensionsupplies.co.uk/suspensions-for-morgans/4593177137& yes, there's fittings for Series 2, 3, 4, 5 & Aero +8 I have SSL on my S5 - it's set 10mm higher than factory, which makes a big difference around sleeping policemen and 'chaussee deforme' back roads in Sussex. Where previously smacks happened and scrapes were unavoidable, I now clear most lumps in the road without contact. The one remaining area of care is when the lump has a very sharp drop off - and I still need to take the barrier at an angle to avoid smacking the rear of the obstacle. The handling effect of being 10mm higher is a little more float at high speed. I notice it, my passengers don't. I may see if stiffening the setup by a couple of clicks helps with that. Otherwise, I have a car where the front & rear ends work together for a much more comfortable ride, with balanced, neutral handling. Will

Hi Will, many thanks for the link and the recommendation. I've already emailed Dan White to enquire about the kit for my S3. I certainly share your views about the road conditions which are very similar in Surrey (Oxted) and Sussex as often around East Grinstead / Crowborough and of course Goodwood! Cheers Paul

Hi Nick, I've found the sump guard people in the form of Wolf Performance - cheers and thanks for the welcome wishes.
