I have just changed existing Blockleys for New Blockleys, very happy with them and my advice is not too much PSI, like 24 works.
Also get the 4mm Inner tubes, tough as old boots!

Interestingly Blockley recommend running at 30psi+ which gives better precision and grip. I believe Red Three and others run as high as 35+psi

This can cause a harsher ride on the standard shocks but if you have adjustable (Spax, ATR, Ohlins....) you can soften them off a bit to compensate. I run my Blockleys at 28psi with Spax adjustable.

It's worth trying the higher pressure, you can always drop it again.

As Chris says, I run my Blockleys at 36psi routinely and a bit higher if its hot or when I've been on track. When I talked to someone from Blockley at a show a while back he strongly recommended making a large jump from the 25 or 26psi I had been running and that it should take the handling into a bit of a sweet spot while gradual small increases might actually mean going through a zone of poorer handling.
The tyres made of glass syndrome in very wet conditions on Blockleys at about 26psi doesn't seem to happen remotely as badly at 36. I do have the Ohlins shocks which help in so many ways.

I too have managed to get 16000 miles from a pair of Blockleys but only by running them down a bit slicker than is entirely sensible and counting it as 8000 miles on the left and 8000 miles on the right...

Ive just spent the weekend at racing at Pembrey circuit in South Wales on my new Michelin Commander III tyres. Very grippy, sticky when hot, vastly reduced the understeer I used to get with the Avons. What used to be a scary battle to stay on the track is now a thrilling ride. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a high performance tyre. Probably not first choice if you do high mileage though!
