The S&S ECU is made by Delphi and loaded with a M3W specific tuning map. If the blank ECU is still available then loading a M3W map with Protune should work.

From my old EU3 locked ECU:

I do not have Protune or the skills to do the tuning myself so I did get help from a local custom motorcycle workshop.

If I understand this correctly they read in a M3W map in the new unlocked ECU and then did the tuning of fuel/airmix that was not working before. With Protune you can live-tune so you get the response directly in the engine while testing. Interestingly they did the tuning driving on real roads as the could not get the M3W on their rolling road.

I bought the ECU from the motorcycle shop but here is a link to a US company selling the ECU: https://vtwin.parts/supplier/ss-cyc...cycle-ss-cycle-ss-vfi-module-kit-55-5090

Dang, they've gone up in price quite a bit since I bought mine in 2018. But it looks like it might be a newer specification.

Did you buy one to eliminate the locked aspect?

Yes. Wanted the ability to merge maps and not lose any current (non-merged) adaptive maps when I disconnect power, which I do whenever it's parked in the garage.

With a locked ECU, anytime you disconnect the battery you lose the adaptive maps which are created each time you drive. So your car goes back to the factory baseline. Which is not a big deal unless you have modified something, like air cleaner, exhaust, or cams. Once at baseline it will take many miles of driving in varying conditions to get the ECU back to it's happy place.

Does anyone have a download link for the ProTune 2 software? It does not seem to be available in the 'Tech Info' section of the www.sscycle.com website any more. sos
