I spent about 4 hours this afternoon cleaning and detailing the 19" summer wheels and tyres, then one by one jacked up the car, removed the 18" winter wheel and tyre and replaced it with the now clean and shiney summer wheel.
After doing this my shoulders ache, my hands ache and my knees hurt.
This used to be fun, but it seems my ageing body can't quite do what my unaged brain believes I can do.
Has anyone else started to find that with ge they are physically not as flexible, agile and strong as they believe they should be?
Ibuprofen, where are you when I need you?

Bert, I know, I'm just in denial... I like doing things myself.. as well as swapping the wheels I had a good look around, checked the pad thickness, made sure there were no fluid leaks and assured myself that the car was ready for the summer. It is the heavy lifting and lying on the concrete getting the jack into position that seems to be more difficult. I'm 69 with a 34 year old brain.....

I'm with you on this Peter. I've been doing quite a lot of gardening / landscaping the last few weeks (in between the rain!) and ,boy do I know about it in the days after. My (older) neighbour clipped his Volvo tyre on the kerb last week and I wheeled my trolley jack over and put the spare wheel on for him.Again, I was suffering the next day It's like you are perfectly capable in your head - but the body won't play ball.......  I find soluble Paracetamol helps......  James

I decide to buy a crawler board thought will make life easier.
After 30 minutes under the car trying to get myself off it was so hard!
Always have my phone with me to call the other half to help me if I am stuck!

Don't give up , those with young brains and old bodies - I'm told that warming up exercises are the key. The personal trainer lady up the road told as much this week while i was playing wheel swapping.
