Recently I have noticed a distinct “click” on initially depressing the clutch pedal on my 1993 Plus 4.
This happens within the first inch of travel, just as the weight is increasing, and feels as though it is coming from the master cylinder pushrod area.
It is quite loud and can be felt as well as heard.
The car has done less than 11000 miles.
Would anybody have any ideas before I start stripping it apart to find nothing wrong?

Worth looking at the clutch pedal clevis pin as some of these have worn prematurely giving similar symptoms to yours.

Clevis pin or return spring snagging maybe. Had a similar issue with my newish car that was cured with spray grease.

Couldn't agree more re: the Clevis pin. Mine was making that noise from almost day one and was told time and time again it was normal. I believed them. Turned out my pin was being ground down and thankfully I eventually took a look. I barely had 1mm of metal left.

As said could be the clevis pin. Lubricate the assembly first to be sure

Looking at the quality of some of these modern monkey metal components landing on our shores, I think it prudent to add the clevis pins to perhaps a bi-annual service check, but you really need to pull the pin out to check properly, lack of lube means it doesn't rotate in use and heavily wears one face

I have the same only does it when the weather warm ???

This afternoon I have taken the clevis pin out, checked and lubricated it. I have also greased the pushrod and pedal shaft.
I did notice there is a clamp to the left of the clutch pedal with 3 bolts. The centre bolt was partly undone so I retightened it.
Put the carpets back in, pressed the pedal and the “click” is still the same!!
Think it needs further investigation from underneath.

I had that annoying click in my -99 4/4. Spent quite a lot of time trying to locate it. Finally I could actually feel it when depressing the clutch pedal and using the other hand as 'detector'. It turned out to be the push rod somehow being worn slightly. I took it out and rotated it 180 degrees and the click was gone.

I have come across this on a different marque of car (Lotus) but could be the same issue. On that car the pushrod bore down on the back of the piston which was a concave recess. The rod onto the back of the piston needed a slight preload which was provided by adjustment at the pedal trunnion. If it did not have the preload the end of the rod would sit low in the back of the piston until the pedal was pressed. Pressing the pedal would then centre the pushrod against the concave face of the piston with an audible and “feelable” click. Not examined my Morgan pedal box and master cylinders in detail so may not be the same thing but they look like similar items.
