As I'd removed the front bumper, I thought I'd have a go at the rear. It was one of those jobs you wish you'd never started..... The previous 'restorer' had decided to blend in the rear valance with the back of the body. Considering the valance is ally, and is flexible and occasionally gets caught on bumps etc, this was not his brightest idea. It was completely covered in about 8mm of filler........ Cracked out the grinder with a stripping wheel, and eventually got it back to bright ally, and then had to get out a chisel and dig out the ton of filler he'd put in the joint. Haven't got any matching paint yet, so sprayed it up in satin black. Remounted the plate and lights, and then realised I now had enough room to mount the reverse and fog light in the valance too (originally they were mounted to the bumoer). Cut a couple of holes and they fitted nicely. Finally I had the bumper mounts - I wanted to leave them on, as I occasionally fit the rear rack for holidays/camping. Didn't like the look of the original Ford overiders, so got a pair of VW ones. Only £15 each so worth a gamble, and as they fit nicely will upgrade to some stainless ones next payday (£40) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2021/06/03/yKRdxaxsPWhRoNuo_AfQGOxhpuKWnsOpd8FckxfdOGzCUL7iZ_jtRKxlY_3EogmMSdP7bhR7KLUiplsmgOpuuCQtvb-WQj3dA1QsRIAfMwVPpAFy8fbk_o3tt3Mr8IH9sovpQlX5Tsz2CRDVHZAiGrHWE9FHnlkSimMLBrtNA0LjlF-SfWwJjsk3x-EsR5K8s4HMkbpH.md.jpg)

Agreed looks much better with overriders - nice job. Are those twin reverse or do you have red bulb/LED behind one of those clear lens?

Tell them it's a resto-mod and talk about Singer a lot. If you can't blind them with science then baffle them......
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Nice one Phil. After more than 20 years ownership of mine, I still can't decide if I prefer it with or without the bumpers.

Looks good.
I think I would prefer with bumpers on our 2 seater 4/4 - which is a shame as, when we specified it, we broke the budget and dropped back to over-riders to save a few pounds which I now regret.

I think it looks great. Initially I wanted a Morgan with full bumpers but the one I fell for had over-riders, I've grown to love them and wouldn't change them now. Each to their own.
