Having spent the last BH weekend successfully switching radiators, the weak spot has obviously moved and now I have a small weep at the water pump- hence the antifreeze smell- thankfully not the heater matrix leaking which was my initial thought. I recall John Worrall advising that all late Morgan LR engines were supplied as Land rover factory stock, (as opposed to Morgan factory modified) so I presume (hope) the replacement pump will be readily available. Is there any particular method required to remove/replace the defective pump- engine lifting for example, to clear the top bar of the cross head? Or will it all pop out in a well mannered straightforward fashion? Any previous experiences/ wwow gratefully received. Here's to another ( not now- it's too sunny!) weekend of knuckle scuffing cheers

Thanks Taffmog, I've used it in the past on short term end of life motors, and have some equivalent in the store. I've read it can lead to later problems like stuck (welded) plugs and build up on valves in certain cases- although this shouldn't be the case with my engine as the head gasket isn't blown, but I'd be more than a bit worried about furring up passageways in the longterm. I got my bottle previously for a suspected HG on the budget Saab, but didn't need it in the end. It is quite expensive for what it is as you say, so if you ever need it for short term quick fix on a cheap motor, this stuff is equivalent :

Thanks Cooperman, I've had several bottles through the system with the previous rad- I think the flexing kept blowing it out at higher temps. I'll switch the pump out on the weekend. May have to lift the engine to clear the top bolt/crossbrace, but otherwise should be simple enough. In the meantime I'm carrying a top up bottle, and I'll run some quality flush to try and get all the old rad seal that may be swilling about out!
