I was there last week but not in the Mog, clever bit of engineering. I was surprised it wasn't a chain ferry like at Swanage, I would have thought that would have dealt with the current etc

A group of us used it several years ago. There are a couple of photos already on TM, but in threads not directly connected to this turntable ferry.
If you are really interested in these ferries there is a book available - profits go to keeping the ferry running. All the other turntable ferry routes have been replaced by bridges years ago.
