As confirmed by Jonathan Wells in the recent interview, MMC are entering the Jet era with the new Three Wheeler. To me that hints at Turbine power, what's small (around the size of an A4 sheet of paper) the "mighty" 1.0L Ford ecoboost, power about around 100-125 perfect for the Three Wheeler, compliant as well. In fact I'm so confident of this I'll eat my hat if I'm wrong.

Using the R18 (1800cc) would probably only require a 6-7 cm widening of the central tunnel.

A significant narrowing of the passenger seat to accommodate a driveshaft would ensure my share of driving dropped....as owner, SWMBO claims "equal rights" to playing so we will stick with the current setup!

If you widen the tunnel, you just widen the chassis, no problem
Are those cammo shields on the side of the prototype hiding the mid engine BMW 1800 cylinders?
Why is the steering wheel on the left? Just asking.

Why the conversation regarding the BMW R18 engine? Yes, nice with the inline gearbox and drive shaft and a lovely engine, but that stuck ahead of the front axle makes it look weird and makes it very front heavy. The new car needs a V Twin or inline four to keep the tradition going in my view.

My money's on a modern MINI 3 cylinder engine...perhaps
