Reading the manual of my 1997 +8 gives tyre pressures front and back the same at 22 psi. That looks a bit low - welcome views on what pressures others run please.

Hi 1340fxd, I run at 24 to 26 all round- higher number for motorway cruising, lower if I'm more rural. But I suspect there may be other variations according to suspension setup and intended use. I suppose lower is bouncier/softer ride?

22 to 24 for me. Bear in mind the relatively light weight of a Morgan, so tyre pressures will not be like you would find on the typical family tintop.

With the 15" alloys on my first Plus 8 I ran them at 22 and that suited my non motorway driving style.

On my present Plus 8 fitted with the 16" Morgan Lightweight alloys 20 was recommended by Roger at Harpers and it's spot on.

I have the same spec as Rich but run mine between 22-26 depending on the journey, (our roads are much rougher than UK, and much much rougher than France)

Thanks everyone - the sort of question which will have many different views - all useful and not a million miles from low to high. All makes sense. As a matter of casual interest, how many of you also ride a motorcycle? I ride a Harley and find the +8 has many of the same spine-tingling features!

I ride a hardtail chop. and the Morgan is like a magic carpet ride by comparison.......

I run my 2002 Plus8 at 21psi. If loaded up with a passenger and luggage for a trip I put it up to 23/24psi.
I have AVO shocks from New Elms set at the lightest setting but do put them up a couple of clicks for the heavier load trips.
I take a small compressor along as a back up to change psi if needed.
Basically trial and error starting at , say, 22 and make small changes as you get the feel.
What rear shocks do you have? Adjustable?
I put AVO on after my Kohni’s failed. They were the type that had limited adjustment that was done off the car. Also a known weakness internally where a heavy bump could damage the adjustment.
I am tempted by Roger’s bump stops as a future mod.

The great thing about Morgans is the ability to change things to suit you , your style of driving and the road conditions you are driving on.

I would not worry going as low as 18 psi as a low start point and increasing from there. in 2 psi increments.

I run mine at 24 all round for most of my driving , but would consider going up to 26 psi when fully laden and running fast on main routes/motorways.

Also experiment with a differential between the front and rear and see what suits you, most non Morgan folk will go for a higher pressure at the back , but in our case this is wrong and will increase the understeer, a couple more psi in the front will help combat that, but don't overdo it or you will be rewarded with chronic oversteer which can be tricky to catch on the limit.

For every psi above the rated pressure means that much less rubber in contact with the road, and consequently less grip.
