HB, nice car, nice colour too. You also seem to have a happy passenger. I enjoyed a lovely afternoon driving along the coast in NL today, and like no side screens of course!
Enjoy!

Just a 10 mile quick blast. Got the 1000 mile service booked for this coming week and heard what sounded a bit like tappets or a loose bolt rattling around somewhere on the drivers side towards the front (to my untrained ear). Decided not to push it today so will wait for bits to be checked/tightened up….other bits being done inc luggage rack and brakes so taking a couple of days.
Nonetheless even on such a short journey in this weather, with the sidescreens off, you can’t help but smile with a sense of the sheer joy of life. Whooooppppeeeeee

Yep 70 miles back from dealers. 1st 1000 mile service, tick. Brake kit done (no squeaks now), window knob glued in so it no longer flies around cockpit when i try and open it, windscreen wipers changed and luggage rack fitted. Battery attachment also fitted so I can use my Ctek now. Unfortunately they can’t do anything about the front speakers. I also tried out my new gps/speedo,worked perfectly so I can read it with my shades on (woop woop) so thank you Sir P…
Great drive back in the sun with roof down. What could be better???? Oh and aircon from time to time cooled my hands and knees. Yay.
Got a car rally to attend on Sunday (in aid of Alzheimer’s Soc) (with Bomber Command Centre as midpoint gathering) and it’s due to rain so should test both windscreen wipers and water tightness of car in general
Can’t wait
Ps also got rear view mirror now secured to windscreen- changes perspective when you can see behind you…

101 miles over just over 3 hours. Was part of a car rally with a proper mix of vehicles (if I feel brave I may try and put some piccies into a thread elsewhere).
Car was perfect, no squeaks or unexpected rattles, and many many people came to ask questions and express admiration. Loved it 😎👍

Hello HB,
I wonder if you would kindly let me know what the battery attachment is that is needed to use your Ctek on the Plus Four. On my Roadster the Ctek simply plugs into the 12V (Cigar lighter) socket. Are you now going to tell me there isn't one on the Plus Four. I do hope not. I have already made too many assumptions about this car that have proved incorrect.
I look forward to hearing from you (I think).
John

John, there will either be a cigar lighter socket under the dash on the passenger side or with the new spec a twin USB outlet (I'm told)
If the latter, adding a fused flying lead under the bonnet (where the battery is located) is easy and better than trying to use a cigar lighter socket.
I presume, when you visited the factory to see your car, you actually took a tour to see cars in build?

Hi Graham,
Thanks very much for your input which is very much appreciated. I was prompted to think there wasn't a 12V supply on the Plus Four because of people having/wanting to connect a Ctek directly to the battery. I have used the 12V (cigar lighter) socket for my Ctek on my Plus 4 and then Roadster for over seven years and never had a problem. I am intrigued therefore to hear that a battery connection is easier/better. I have heard that before but never understood it or had it explained. Hope you are well and look forward to seeing you in the not too distant future.
Best regards,
John

Graham,
PS I had heard that there were two USB sockets on the 22MY cars but thought they would be in addition to the 12V socket rather than a replacement. Socket adapters for a 12V socket to provide two or more USB sockets are widely available any way. I am struggling to find out exactly what has been changed/added/deleted/improved on the new cars. I knew about the brakes (key influencer for me to wait for a 22MY car), the hood and seats and have since heard about USB sockets and apparently new wings. Heaven knows what if anything else has changed.
John
